FEELING SAFE, ALIVE & FREE IN YOUR BODY, IS YOUR BIRTH RIGHT
Welcome to the Somatic Institute for Women.
A trauma-informed, body-based sanctuary offering online educator trainings, workshops & resources for women to reclaim their natural, embodied aliveness.
'The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.'
is the Greek word for body. The practice of somatics is an inquiry into knowing ourselves and the world around us, by listening to the body and its language.
The Somatic Institute for Women offers educator trainings, workshops & resources that foster a deep connection with your somatic world, This connection can gift us with living life from the direct experience of wholeness, from who you are at your core.
From this place, you are able to rest into a natural sense of freedom and belonging, sourced from within, as the foundation for how you show up in the world.

MEET THE FOUNDER
Hi, I'm Maanee. I’m a Somatic Psychotherapist, Dance Therapist, Erotic Educator & Somatic Integrative Trauma Therapist & the founder of the Somatic Institute For Women.
I am a deep feeler and lover of the truth. An investigator of the hidden, denied and repressed. A beloved of presence, movement, deep belly breaths, touch, the Erotic and silence.
My muse is the sensuous, felt, emotional, watery realms of the underworld.
The teachings, visions and curations found in this space emerge not only from my 10 years of professional practice and study in the field of somatic therapeutic modalities and practices, but more importantly, from my living, breathing experience and inquiry of being in deep connection with the Shadow, the Body, nervous system, the erotic and the Feminine principle.
I believe that it is our birthright to feel safe, alive and free our bodies.
That is why I created this school.
SOMATIC INTEGRATIV TRAUMA THERAPIST, EROTIC EDUCATOR & DANCE THERAPIST
Our Western, patriarchal and colonial value systems have conditioned us to look outside of ourselves for authority, education, connection, pleasure, purpose and meaning.
This programming has exalted the mind, intellect and external orientation over the intelligence of the body and our own internal relationship with our visceral, powerful, sensual, heartful selves. We have normalised the constant and dissatisfying reaching and searching for fullness, nourishment and connection outside of our own skin.
Through this, our culture has become painfully disembodied, operating primarily from unprocessed personal and collective trauma.
As well as seeing our intellect as separate from our body-self, we also perceive and experience ourselves as separate from each other and the world around us.
